I called customer service (the rep was great) and he walked me through trouble shooting the issue to the extent of removing the inside front door panel and manually trying to release the solenoid which would not fire. In addition not only did this safe not lock, it came out of the box with a 12" scratch on the front door which had been factory painted. I say 'unfortunately' not only because I won't be able to keep it but also because I have to re-package, move it, load it up and return this 300 lb. ![]() Unfortunately I had to return this brand new, out of the box purchase because the safe would not lock. Just beware you may need to fix the cheaply installed (and not quality tested) electronics.īottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend Easier than trying to contact the company for repair and certainly easier than returning for another.įor the price, and to safely hold a few handguns and rifles, this is a great buy. After I did that, the solenoid began working and all is well. I had to re-seat the main data cable that goes from the keypad to the main circuit board. After a bit of trouble shooting, I removed the door liner and got to the electronics inside. Out of the box, mine would not lock at all. My only issue was with regards to locking it. Installing the shelves was not too hard, and it's decent quality inside (don't expect $1000 safe quality). The safe was well packaged and mine had zero scratches or defects on it right out of the box. ![]() I picked this up on a 50% sale at BJ's and was happy to find a nice sized safe for a fair price.
